Goodcrew had an eventful 2024. As we enter 2025, we look back and share our plans and ambitions for the year ahead. “The past year has been marked by challenges such as visa issues, as well as growth and innovation.”
In this interview, Ruth Suiker and Patrick Dompeling talk about goals achieved and new challenges.
Patrick looks back on one of 2024’s greatest challenges: visa applications. “We experienced long waiting times of four to six months. This is obviously very stressful for our staff. Fortunately, we found a new immigration office at the end of 2024, which helped us catch up with the backlog.”
Ruth adds: “The logistical aspect of visa applications requires a lot of coordination. Our staff have to be disembarked for fingerprinting, which requires a lot of organisation. It is nice to see that we have worked together efficiently in this area.”
Alongside the challenges, 2024 has also been a year of growth. Patrick says: “We have taken on more staff, but the number of customers has also increased. A key success factor is our reliability: we always pay on time and communicate clearly with our clients and employees. This makes us stand out in the market.”
The growth in clients and staff has inspired Goodcrew to look further into optimisation. Ruth says: “It's about making processes run smoothly, both for our customers and our employees.”
Another important pillar is digitalisation. Patrick: “We have implemented a program that allows contracts to be signed digitally. In 2025, we want to extend this to make it easier for customers to manage documents, even if they are less digitally savvy.”
“Process optimisation remains a spearhead for 2025. We would like to continue to focus on simplicity and efficiency”, says Ruth. “This makes it easier for everyone, from the people on the ships to the customers on shore.”
For 2025, the focus is on continued growth and improvement. Patrick: “If we continue to grow, we will look at the possibility of expanding our team. Currently, Ruth and I can manage the work well, but in the future, we may need extra hands.”
Goodcrew is also expanding its services in the ARA region - Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp. Patrick: “We have found a solution for ships in this area, which was difficult before. It's great to see that we can now help customers and employees with this.”
Patrick and Ruth stress the importance of enjoying their work and maintaining a good balance. “We want to make sure that our processes are as efficient as possible so that we have more time and energy to focus on what we do best: placing people”, concludes Patrick.
With growth, digitalisation and process optimisation at the forefront, we look forward to a successful 2025 with confidence.
